Will A Sanitised Bigg Boss 6 Sell As A family Show?

It’s 10:30 pm. Lights are out in the kids room, the adults are done with their saas-bahu series and are making their beds for the night. And its time for Bigg Boss 5 on Colors television. Replete with all the trills, drama and controversies, with abuses being hurled and manipulative housemates seducing, bitching and back stabbing to survive elimination, what joy the reality show brought to our drawing rooms last season!
Bigg Boss season 5
Well, the joys will still continue with the soon to be aired Bigg Boss season 6, but this time one can share it with the entire family. Yes, Bigg Boss is going for an image make over this season, and its brand new avatar will be a family show.
Times of India reported that the broadcasters of the show confirmed the development, “Bigg Boss 6 will be a wholesome entertainer with a parivarik punch.”
So, the clean up process is underway. To begin with you will not see anyone like Rakhi Sawant or a Sunny Leone. Not even a Veena Mallik or Sambhavna Seth!
This season will feature personalities from all walks of life and will have only those actors/ models with a cleaner public image. The underlying principle behind it being, that if the participants are sober, the chances of embarrassing scenes or indecent behaviour occurring are lessened.
The decision to clean up the show and make it fit for family viewing was touted by Salman Khan, who knows the value of having a large fan base across age groups. The broadcasters also wanted to expand their audience base and are open to the idea.
Now, the question is how much will a Bigg Boss sans galis-bitching-sleaze work for a reality show that has build its reputation solely on that basis. Would you watch a sanitised Bigg Boss?
